I, Patrick McCarron, am an iOS and Mac app / game developer from Chicago. I developed one of the first iPhone games back in 2007 and haven't stopped since. Check out my app Portfolio for more info on the projects I've worked on.

I'm also an avid video game enthusiast who has been writing FAQs, websites and guides for video games since the 90s. I currently run the longest running Mortal Kombat fan site: The Realm of Mortal Kombat (TRMK) in my spare time.

Could you use Spotlight instead of Quicksilver?

minimalmac:

“Keeping with the theme of using the software that comes with your Mac, I gave up using QuickSilver and other similar tools when Leopard came out. 10.5 made Spotlight much faster, and it now does 90% of what I was using third party launcher tools for.”

I also use Spotlight as well, but QuickSilver is MUCH faster than Spotlight is normally.

minimalmac just posted a follow up article with some nice AppleScript commands to do things like Emptying the Trash, Ejecting Disk, etc.
